Our aluminium cable glands and accessories provide secure, weatherproof, and reliable connections, ensuring safety in a wide range of applications.
Designed for durability and performance, our aluminium cable glands and accessories are ideal for safe and efficient electrical connections.
Conex Aluminium Components offers a wide range of aluminium cable glands and accessories, crafted to meet the highest safety and quality standards. Our product line includes weatherproof glands, earth tags, and lock nuts, all engineered for precision and reliability. These products are suitable for indoor, outdoor, and industrial applications, providing robust performance under varying environmental conditions. Customization options are available to meet specific customer requirements.
We manufacture aluminium BW indoor glands, CW and E1W outdoor/weatherproof glands for armoured cable, lock nuts, earth tags, shrouds, reducers, adaptors and cable cleats, machined from aluminium alloy bar or forgings to customer and industry specifications.
Aluminium glands are about one third the weight of brass, cost less, do not suffer dezincification and are preferred on aluminium enclosures and in environments with ammonia or sulphur compounds. They are common in petrochemical, marine and utility installations.
Glands are machined from corrosion-resistant 6061-T6, 6082-T6 or copper-free aluminium alloys (typically below 0.4% copper) that are preferred for hazardous-area and marine applications.
Industrial cable glands are made to BS 6121, BS EN 62444 (IEC 62444) for mechanical and IP performance and to the gland patterns (BW, CW, E1W) used across the UK, Middle East, India and Australia. Hazardous-area certification (ATEX/IECEx) applies only to specifically certified designs.
BW glands are for indoor terminations of steel-wire-armoured (SWA) cable without an outer seal; CW glands add an outer seal for outdoor use; E1W glands add inner and outer seals for full weatherproof, IP66-rated protection.
Aluminium glands terminate SWA, AWA, braided and unarmoured cables depending on the design. The gland size is selected from the cable's inner sheath diameter, armour diameter and outer sheath diameter.
Standard entry threads are metric (M16–M90 × 1.5 or 2.0 pitch per ISO 965), with NPT, PG and BSPT available. Thread lengths suit standard lock nuts and enclosure wall thickness.
Weatherproof designs with inner and outer seals and a correctly fitted entry sealing washer are designed to achieve IP66 and IP68, subject to type testing and correct installation.
The armour clamping cone and ring clamp the armour wires, providing earth continuity through the gland body to the enclosure. An earth tag under the gland connects to the protective earth conductor when the enclosure is non-metallic.
Yes, but where moisture is present dissimilar-metal contact should be managed with plated glands, sealing washers or suitable accessories to minimize galvanic corrosion.
Common accessories include lock nuts, earth tags, serrated washers, entry sealing washers, PVC or LSF shrouds, reducers, enlargers and stopping plugs.
Glands can be supplied in natural machined aluminium, clear anodized, or nickel plated for improved corrosion resistance and appearance.
Yes. We produce glands to customer drawings with special thread lengths, body lengths, sealing ranges and markings, supported by prototypes and first-article inspection.
MOQ is 10 pieces per size. Samples are typically available within 2–3 weeks and production in 4–6 weeks depending on sizes, finish and quantity.
Please send the gland type, cable type and diameters, entry thread size and type, finish, seals required, accessories needed and quantity per size.
