Durable and Lightweight Aluminium Spacers for Precision Applications
Our aluminium spacers are designed for accuracy and durability, providing reliable spacing and alignment solutions for industrial and commercial applications.
Precision-crafted aluminium spacers for enhanced performance, ensuring lightweight and durable solutions in diverse applications.
At Conex Aluminium Components, we manufacture high-quality aluminium spacers designed to meet precise specifications. These spacers are ideal for use in automotive, aerospace, electronics, and machinery industries, offering excellent corrosion resistance, mechanical strength, and lightweight properties. With advanced production technologies, we ensure consistent quality and accuracy in every spacer. We also provide customization options to meet specific project requirements, ensuring reliable and long-lasting performance in all applications.
Aluminium standoffs are threaded spacers that mount and separate PCBs, panels, glass or signage from a surface. They are available as female-female, male-female and male-male types in round or hex bar, and they fasten directly with screws rather than needing a through bolt.
Metric threads from M2 to M12 and imperial threads including #2-56, #4-40, #6-32, #8-32, #10-32 and 1/4-20 are standard. Fine, BSW or custom threads and non-standard lengths can be produced to your drawing.
Common hex sizes are 4.5–5 mm for M2.5, 5.5 mm for M3, 7 mm for M4, 8 mm for M5 and 10 mm for M6, with imperial sizes such as 3/16 in and 1/4 in for #4-40 and #6-32. We can produce any across-flats dimension your design requires.
Because aluminium is softer than steel screws, we recommend a thread engagement of at least 1.5 times the nominal diameter (2 × D for high loads or repeated assembly). For frequent disassembly or heavy loads, helical coil inserts can be fitted to prevent stripping.
Metric threads are made to 6H (internal) and 6g (external), and unified threads to 2B/2A, with 3B/3A available for precision applications. All threads are checked with go/no-go plug and ring gauges.
Aluminium threads need lower torque than steel-to-steel joints. Torque should be based on the screw size, thread engagement and whether threadlocker or inserts are used, and should be verified with a trial assembly. We can supply recommended torque values for your standoff design.
Natural, clear anodized, black anodized, colour anodized and chromate conversion finishes are available. Threads can be masked or re-tapped after anodizing, and conductive finishes are used where the standoff is part of a grounding path.
Male threads can be cut or roll-formed. Rolled threads have better fatigue strength and a smoother finish, making them ideal for high-volume standoffs, while cut threads are used for small batches and special profiles.
They are used for mounting PCBs in electronics and control panels, spacing panels and covers in enclosures, solar and telecom equipment, robotics and drones, signage and glass display mounting, and lightweight structural assemblies where weight matters.
Yes. We make two-piece sign standoffs with a barrel and cap in round or hex designs, with brushed, polished, anodized or colour finishes, for mounting acrylic, glass, aluminium composite and signage panels on walls.
Use medium-strength threadlocker, pre-applied nylon patch threads, serrated or spring washers, or specify longer thread engagement. For vibration-critical applications, we can supply standoffs with pre-applied thread locking.
Yes. In dry indoor electronics this is standard practice. For outdoor or humid applications, anodized standoffs combined with stainless steel or coated screws, plus anti-seize or insulating washers, minimize galvanic corrosion.
Yes. Custom lengths, stepped or shouldered bodies, dissimilar threads at each end, cross holes, slots and knurled bodies can be produced from 10 pieces upward without special tooling.
We check threads with go/no-go gauges, lengths and hex sizes with calibrated instruments, and finish and appearance visually. First-article inspection and dimensional reports are available, and every lot is traceable to its material certificate.
Tell us the type (F-F, M-F or M-M), thread size, body shape and size, length, male thread length, material grade, finish and quantity, or send a drawing. We will quote per-piece pricing and can send samples before bulk production.
