Reliable Aluminium-Copper Bi-Metallic Tape Connector for Secure Electrical Connections

Conex’s Aluminium-Copper Bi-Metallic Tape Connector offers secure, efficient connections for electrical systems, ensuring reliable and durable performance.

High-quality Aluminium-Copper Bi-Metallic Tape Connector by Conex, ensuring dependable electrical connections with long-lasting performance in industrial and utility applications.

At Conex Aluminium Components, we specialize in **Aluminium-Copper Bi-Metallic Tape Connectors** designed to provide effective connections for electrical systems. These connectors are crafted from high-quality materials, combining the durability of aluminium and the excellent conductivity of copper. Perfect for use in power distribution, telecommunication systems, and other critical infrastructure, they offer secure and efficient connections. Conex also offers customized options to meet the specific needs of your electrical projects, delivering reliable and long-lasting solutions for your systems.

Aluminium and copper sections are metallurgically bonded by friction welding or roll bonding, creating a solid, low-resistance interface that is sealed from moisture.

Standard connectors join 25 × 3 mm, 20 × 3 mm and 20 × 4 mm tapes. Connectors for round conductors or different tape sizes can be produced to order.

They are connection components tested to IEC/EN 62561-1 for lightning current withstand, resistance and environmental conditioning.

They are installed at the transition between aluminium roof or down conductors and the copper earth termination network, usually above ground at or near the test joint.

Install with the copper portion below the aluminium portion. This prevents water carrying copper ions onto the aluminium, which would cause pitting corrosion.

Stainless steel A2 or A4 bolts, nuts and washers are used, tightened to the specified torque to maintain clamping pressure.

Transitions are normally kept above ground. Below-ground connections should be all copper and made by exothermic welding or approved clamps.

Designs are tested to IEC 62561-1 Class H (100 kA 10/350 µs) or Class N (50 kA 10/350 µs), depending on the connector size and application.

Yes. With stainless fixings and a sealing compound applied to the joint, they perform well in coastal and industrial atmospheres.

Tests include bond strength, electrical resistance, lightning current withstand and salt-mist and sulphurous-atmosphere conditioning.

Yes. Tin plating the copper side improves corrosion resistance and appearance in harsh environments.

Yes. We manufacture custom bi-metallic plates, lugs and connectors to drawing.

MOQ is 10 pieces. Samples are typically ready within 2–3 weeks and production within 4–6 weeks.

Please share the aluminium and copper conductor sizes, connector style, lightning current class and quantity.
