Reliable Aluminium Earthing and Grounding Accessories for Safety
Our aluminium earthing and grounding accessories are built for safety and reliability, ensuring robust protection for electrical systems.
Engineered for precision and durability, our aluminium earthing and grounding accessories enhance safety and efficiency in electrical systems.
At Conex Aluminium Components, we specialize in providing high-quality aluminium earthing and grounding accessories. These products, including grounding rods, tape clamps, and air terminal bases, are designed to ensure safe and effective grounding solutions. Crafted from durable aluminium, our accessories are suitable for various industrial and residential applications. We offer customizable solutions to meet the specific needs of your project, delivering reliable and long-lasting performance.
We manufacture aluminium air terminal rods and bases, lightning arrestor bases, tape clamps, DC (tape) clips, bi-metallic Al–Cu tape connectors, test clamps, grounding bars and connectors for lightning protection and above-ground earthing systems.
Components are designed to EN / IEC 62561-1 (connection components) and IEC 62561-2 (conductors and earth electrodes), BS EN 62305 for system design, UL 96 / NFPA 780 in North America and AS/NZS 1768 in Australia.
Aluminium is used for air terminals, roof and down conductors and fixings above ground. It must not be installed directly on limestone, plaster, mortar or damp masonry, buried in soil or embedded in concrete, where it can corrode; copper or copper-bonded components are used below ground.
Conductors and tapes are typically 1050/1350 or 6101/6063 high-conductivity aluminium, air rods 6063-T6 or 6082-T6, and cast bases and clamps LM6 or A356 alloys.
Use bi-metallic (Al–Cu) connectors or tin-plated clamps so that aluminium and copper do not touch directly. Copper should be installed below aluminium on vertical runs to prevent copper-salt run-off corroding the aluminium.
IEC 62561-2 specifies a minimum of 70 mm² for aluminium conductors (compared with 50 mm² for copper). Common tape sizes are 25 × 3 mm and 20 × 4 mm, and solid round 8–10 mm diameter.
Connection components are tested to IEC 62561-1 for lightning current withstand (for example 50 kA 10/350 µs for Class H), after environmental conditioning (salt mist and sulphurous atmosphere), plus resistance and mechanical tests.
Stainless steel A2/A4 bolts and screws are used with aluminium clamps and clips. Plain steel fixings should be avoided as they corrode and loosen over time.
Yes, when stainless steel hardware is used and bi-metallic joints are sealed. Anodized or PVC-covered conductors provide extra protection in marine environments.
Aluminium costs much less than copper, weighs about one third as much, is less attractive to metal theft and blends with light-coloured roofs and cladding.
Conductor clips are typically installed every 1 m on horizontal and vertical runs, reduced where wind loads are high, in line with BS EN 62305-3 guidance.
Yes. Test clamps allow down conductors to be disconnected from the earth termination network for periodic resistance testing.
Yes. We manufacture custom clamps, bases and connectors to drawings or samples, including customer marking and packaging.
MOQ is 10 pieces for standard items. Samples are typically available within 2–3 weeks and production orders within 4–6 weeks.
