An E1W gland is used for SWA cable in indoor and outdoor locations. It has an inner seal on the cable bedding and an outer seal on the cable sheath, preventing moisture ingress and maintaining armour earth continuity.
E1W glands are designed for IP66 and IP68 when installed with a suitable entry sealing washer and correctly tightened seals.
E1W glands are used with single-wire armoured (SWA) and aluminium wire armoured (AWA) cables with PVC, LSF or XLPE sheaths.
E1W glands are made to BS 6121 and BS EN 62444 performance requirements for cable glands.
Standard entry threads are metric M20 to M90 (1.5 pitch), with NPT and PG entries available on request.
