Precision Sheetmetal Fabrication Parts from Aluminium
Conex manufactures custom aluminium sheet-metal fabrication parts for industrial equipment, electrical systems, transport, renewable energy and general engineering. Components are produced from customer drawings with controlled cutting, punching, forming, joining and finishing.
Flexible prototype and production support: we can develop low-volume fabricated parts without dedicated press tooling and scale repeat orders using optimized nesting, fixtures and documented inspection points.
Custom aluminium sheet-metal fabrication capability
Typical products include enclosures, covers, chassis, panels, trays, brackets, heat shields, ducting and welded sub-assemblies. Parts can be supplied as individual components or assembled with studs, threaded inserts, rivets, hinges and other specified hardware.
Cutting, forming, welding and finishing
Manufacturing can combine laser cutting, CNC punching, shearing, press-brake bending, rolling, TIG or MIG welding, grinding, deburring, tapping and hardware insertion. Alloy and temper are selected around bendability, strength, appearance and corrosion exposure. Anodizing, powder coating, painting, brushing and polishing can be coordinated to the drawing.
DFM, tolerances and inspection
Our DFM review considers bend relief, inside radius, grain direction, hole-to-bend distance, weld access, distortion control and economical sheet utilization. Inspection can include first-article checks, dimensional reports, weld and finish verification, and gauges for repeat features.
Aluminium sheet-metal fabrication FAQs
The following answers cover common questions about grades, thickness, tolerances, welding, hardware and quotation requirements. Capability is confirmed against part size, geometry, finish and required production volume.
We fabricate aluminium enclosures, panels, brackets, chassis, covers, trays, frames, heat shields, ducting and structural parts from sheet and plate using laser cutting, punching, bending, welding and finishing.
5052-H32 is the most popular for bending and welding, 5754 and 5083 for marine and structural use, 3003 for general forming and 6061-T6 for stiff, machined plate parts.
We fabricate aluminium from about 0.8 mm to 12 mm thick, with thicker plate machined or cut on CNC equipment.
Fibre laser cutting, CNC turret punching and shearing are used depending on thickness, volume and feature detail.
Laser-cut features are typically held to ±0.1 mm, bends to ±0.2–0.5 mm and angles to ±1°, depending on thickness and part size.
TIG and MIG welding with 4043 or 5356 filler wires are used, selected by base alloy and finishing requirements.
Finishes include brushing, bead blasting, anodizing, powder coating, painting and chromate conversion.
Yes. PEM nuts, studs and standoffs, rivet nuts and hinges can be installed as part of the assembly.
Use standard thicknesses, consistent bend radii, adequate flange lengths (at least 3–4× thickness) and avoid features too close to bends.
Yes. Laser cutting and CNC bending allow quick prototypes without tooling, with an MOQ of 10 pieces.
Dimensional checks, flatness, weld quality and finish are inspected before dispatch.
Yes. 5000-series alloys and anodized or powder-coated finishes provide excellent outdoor corrosion resistance.
Yes. We can assemble fabricated parts with fasteners, gaskets and components to deliver ready-to-install units.
Prototypes are typically ready in 1–3 weeks and production in 3–6 weeks.
