Secure BW Indoor Cable Glands of Aluminium for Reliable Cable Management

Conex’s BW Indoor Cable Glands of Aluminium are engineered for efficient cable management in indoor electrical systems, ensuring secure and durable connections.

High-quality BW Indoor Cable Glands of Aluminium by Conex, providing safe and efficient cable connections for indoor electrical systems.

At Conex Aluminium Components, we specialize in manufacturing **BW Indoor Cable Glands of Aluminium** tailored for secure cable connections in indoor environments. These cable glands are made from high-grade aluminium, offering excellent corrosion resistance, durability, and easy installation. Ideal for use in industrial, commercial, and utility electrical systems, they ensure reliable performance and long-lasting service. Available in a variety of sizes and designs, Conex also provides customization options to meet specific project requirements, delivering exceptional quality and efficiency for indoor cable management.

BW glands suit indoor switchboards, MCC panels, control cabinets and distribution boards in clean, dry areas. For outdoor, wet, dusty or wash-down locations, CW or E1W glands with sheath seals should be used instead.

BW glands are designed for SWA and AWA cables with PVC, LSF or XLPE sheaths. The gland is selected so the armour wire diameter and cable outer diameter fall within the gland's marked range.

No. Because BW glands have no sheath seal, they are not IP rated. Adding a PVC shroud improves appearance and gives some protection, but it does not make the gland weatherproof.

BW glands are manufactured to the BS 6121 gland pattern and meet the mechanical and earthing performance requirements of BS EN 62444 (IEC 62444).

Metric M20 to M90 × 1.5 entry threads are standard, with 20S and 20 sizes for small cables. NPT and PG threads can be produced for North American and European enclosures.

The armour wires are spread over the cone and clamped by the clamping ring, creating a low-resistance path from the armour through the gland body and lock nut to the enclosure or an earth tag.

Lock nuts, earth tags, serrated washers and PVC or LSF shrouds are the usual accessories. Earth tags are required when the gland plate is non-metallic or painted.

No. BW glands rely on armour clamping for retention and earthing. Unarmoured cables need compression glands with a sheath seal, such as A2 or nylon glands.

Aluminium glands weigh about one third as much as brass, cost less, avoid dezincification and are galvanically compatible with aluminium enclosures and AWA cable armour.

BW glands are machined from 6061-T6 or 6082-T6 aluminium bar, or copper-free aluminium alloys where specified for marine and petrochemical projects.

Natural machined aluminium, clear anodized and nickel plated finishes are available. Nickel plating gives a bright finish and additional corrosion resistance.

Yes. We can supply extended entry threads, special cone sizes for non-standard armour and customer markings, from an MOQ of 10 pieces per size.

Samples are typically ready within 2–3 weeks and production orders within 4–6 weeks, depending on sizes and quantities.

Please provide cable construction and diameters (armour and outer sheath), entry thread size, finish, accessories required and quantity per size.
